Engraving Guide - Men's Wedding Rings
Below is a comprehensive guide in reference to the engraving of our men's wedding bands.

Where will the engraving be positioned on my ring?
Each men's wedding band has a (1) metal quality stamp (i.e. a stamp required to identify the authenticity of the metal used in the ring e.g. 925 - for sterling silver or 18k - for gold) and/or (2) the designer's logo (e.g. designer's like HISŪ have a very small logo stamped into the ring along side the quality stamp) and/or (3) an embedded diamond (as in the HISŪ collection).
The engraving on your ring will be positioned opposite those other elements as indicated in the image to the right. .
The engraving will begin with space following the stamp. Please note our engravers will try their best to accurately center the inscription depending on the number of characters you submit for engraving.

What type of engraving font will be used on my ring?
A single-line block font (similar to the Arial Narrow font on your computer) in uppercase lettering is used when engraving an inscription into a wedding ring.
This particular font allows for deep engraving, uniformity and clear legibility on small curved surfaces such as the inside of a ring.
- Please note that the font image shown here is from the stencil that is used. The actual line engraving takes place within the outlines.

Why can I only engrave up to 20 characters on my ring?
Our engravers have recommend a limit of 20 characters for 2 reasons: Firstly, to allow for your inscription to be centered as best as possible opposite the ring's markings (stamps, logos, diamond) and secondly for the engraving to be adequately spaced from those elements (i.e. markings, diamond etc.), so that your engraving looks well balanced on the inside of your ring.
The 20 character limit includes: Letters, Numbers, Punctuation Marks and Spaces.

Will the engraving on my ring fade?
No, it will not.
The engraving of your ring is done by our professional engravers who have over 15 years of experience engraving jewelry. They will ensure that each engraved character is adequately deep enough and proportionally spaced for your inscription to be clear, legible and durable so that it will not fade or wear-off.

What is usually engraved on a mans wedding ring?
In all honesty, engraved inscriptions are a matter of personal preference and should be from the heart. But that said, we have complied a list of suggestions, that several customers have engraved (or have had engraved) on their wedding bands over the years
Please keep in mind that these are only suggestions, some of which are of a more traditional in tone and others a little more flippant and light hearted.
As mentioned, you should try to inscribe something that is personally heartfelt. But feel free to use the following as a reference for your own inscription and remember to keep it to 20 characters or less. (1. & 2. below, are by far the most utilized on wedding rings)
- A Wedding Date (e.g. 07-07-07 or 07-07-200 or July 07 2007 etc.)
- Initials - Date - Initials (e.g. JFK 07-07-07 MMM)

If I am not happy with my ring, can I return it?
Yes you can, IF YOUR RING HAS NOT BEEN ENGRAVED
We do want you to be completely satisfied with your wedding band, but if you are unhappy with your purchase (and if it has not been engraved) you have 30-days (from the receipt of your order) to return your wedding band for a full refund of the *purchase price.

* Returned items only qualify for a refund if they are returned in their original, undamaged condition with it's packaging intact. Should an item be returned after wear and shows visible scratches and discoloration due to use, the return will not qualify for a refund. Shipping charges, taxes or duties will not be refunded.

How do I get my ring engraved?
To engrave your selected ring, simply type in the text you would like to have engraved into the field provided on the item detail page as shown here on the right.
Each ring detail page has a link on the right-hand side of the page, beneath the bulleted list description that reads "View Engraving Details". Clicking this link will open a *pop-up window that will show you an example of how the engraving will look on your ring and your engraving costs and options.
(* Please Note: If you have a pop-up blocker activated on your internet browser, you will have to disable temporarily it, or hold down the CTRL key (PC) or Command key (MAC) while clicking on the link, which will manually override the blocker and allow the window to open).

How long does it usually take for a wedding ring to be engraved?
Each of our men's wedding rings are custom made for every order. If you have requested engraving on your ring it will be done within the usual 5-7 business day timeframe that it takes to process a wedding ring order.

What if I find an error in my engraving?
Although engraved items cannot be returned, we are committed to your complete satisfaction, and if we have made an error on your engraving (i.e. if the engraving we have done is different to what you have requested in your order), we will re-engrave another ring and ship it out to you at no additional cost, along with a pre-paid shipping box to send back the incorrectly engraved ring.
